The weather is starting to turn colder. It's knitwear season! Get busy! (Or not, but come anyway!)

Bring us your tired, your poor sponge bars yearning to be redone! In addition to good company and show and tell, we'll do a clinic to restore those sponge bars. I'll bring tools and materials, and we'll find out just how simple it is to restore your knitting machine's sponge bar to fluffy capability.

If you have spare sponge bars, you can donate them -- we sometimes have newcomers with "new-to-them" machines. Often the only thing that stands in the way to showing a novice some fun with their machine is that the sponge bar is shot. We're going to keep a couple of fresh sponge bars at the ready, to get them going right away and send new knitters home happy and motivated.

Even if your sponge bar is fluffy and beautiful, come anyway! We will admire what members are knitting as cooler weather approaches, and maybe share ideas for gifts to make well before the holidays are upon us. If anyone has yarn adventures to tell or swag to show off, we want to know!

We look forward to seeing you for the August meeting! To kick off a new "school year", the theme for the evening is "Bond. James Bond. No, The Bond (Ultimate Sweater Machine)" Please bring your Bond if you have one, and any projects you have done (fully or partially) using a Bond or any simple single bed knitting machine. Spy attire optional. Novice knitters are particularly welcome!

If you don't have a Bond, come anyway! We want to hear what you're up to, and share good company!
